Opening-Weekend Chant Starter Kit (Europe 2025/26)
New season, clean slate, full voice. This kit gives you universal melodies, quick chant templates, and timing cues you can use on Matchday 1 anywhere in Europe—swap in your club or player names and go.
Golden rules (for every stand)
- Follow the capo/lead. One rhythm, one voice.
- Keep it clean. No hate, no slurs—protect the end.
- Read the room. Pause for injuries, VAR, or a minute’s silence.
- Short & repeatable. 15–25 second loops carry best.
- Breathe & rotate starters. Share the load; hydrate at HT.
Quick-start chants (work anywhere)
Goal / Sub “Seven Nation Army” bassline
Sing the “oh-oh-oh…” riff + player/club name. Keep it to 2–3 loops.
Away end “Allez, allez, allez”
Easy rise + claps. Start mid-tempo; build as the team pushes.
Pressure “Come on you [Reds/Blues/etc.]”
Short, loud, perfect for corners and counter-presses.
Build-up “When the … go marching in”
Slow first half, quicker late—swap in your club name.
Celebration “Freed From Desire” pattern
Bouncy post-goal loop; 20–30 seconds max to reset.
Kickoff / Comeback Viking clap
Clap → pause → clap; tighten the gap to lift volume.
Drum & clap patterns (no drum? just clap)
Use these as count-ins. Keep sticks light and let the stand breathe.
Boom … Boom … Boom-Boom-Boom (hold) / repeat
Clap-Clap … Clap-Clap-Clap (↑ tempo after big chance)
Boom-Boom-Boom-Boom (4) → call → crowd response
What to sing, when
- Walk-out: long anthem/club song, scarves up.
- 0'–20': steady engine chant; keep stamina.
- Corners/press: short call-and-response + claps.
- After a goal: celebration riff (2–3 loops), then reset.
- Chasing late: fast belief chant; unify tempo with drum.
- Protecting a lead: slower anthem to calm the team.
- Full-time win: club song; salute the players.
New-signing name chants (build in 60 seconds)
- Pick the vowel hook: names with open vowels (ah/oh/eh) sing best.
- Stress the right syllable: e.g., JÓ-se-ph, Fe-LI-pe.
- Template A (bounce): “[Name], [Name], [Name]!” (3× + clap-clap-clap)
- Template B (melody): map the name onto the “Seven Nation Army” or “Allez” pattern.
- Template C (call-response): Leader: first name → Crowd: surname (or “olé!”).
League flavor notes (super short)
Premier League
Anthems + witty one-liners. Short chants during play; anthems at bookends.
La Liga
Drums + melody; “Vamos [Club]” and “Sí se puede” for pressure phases.
Serie A
Capo-led, hymn-like choruses; follow drum cues and megaphone calls.
Bundesliga
90-minute singing in safe-standing; bouncing songs travel well.
Ligue 1
“Allez” variants, big choreo; volume spikes after tifos.
Scotland / Portugal / NL / Belgium
Fast, catchy melodies; call-and-response spreads quickly.
Turkey & Greece
Wall-of-sound unison; pace yourself and hydrate.
